Should my parents get an HP E400z or an iMac for our new desktop?

My parents are finally getting pissed off with the very old Dell that we have and say it’s time for a new desktop. So should we get an HP and risk being pissed off with Windows again… or spend some extra money to get an iMac? My parents will be using it for general computing while I’ll be using it for my music, videos, possibly games, etc. (Yes I know about the whole game thing with mac’s so you don’t need to take that into consideration) thanks.
Which is better (to do online schooling), a HP desktop or a iMac?

I just need something reliable to do online schooling and surf the web. I have a old imac that i can update, or a HP desktop also. Which one should i use? (cant buy a new one, i have to pick the imac or the hp).
